Visit the Sevran-Livry National blowing snow

Formerly, the blowing snow Factory de Sevran-Livry was imperial before becoming national. It has been functional for a whole century and produced in the 28 tonnes of powders per day. Currently, it is located in a Sevran forest park and has become a museum that speaks of the history of blowing snow. You will have the opportunity to admire the various experimental laboratories, boilers, machines for making mercury fulminate and many others. As for its history, it operated for a century, that is to say in the years of the First and Second World War. Specifically, it stopped working in the 73s, since the Germans stripped it of these machines. It employed 3,300 workers who managed to prepare more than 28 tonnes of powders per day. As for its location, it was created in the Bondit forest, which currently means that it has been converted into a 137-hectare national forest park. This park is then classified by the Department of Seine Saint Denis. In this park, you will have the opportunity to admire various constructions of sizes and paces, which are none other than the last traces left of the blowing snow. These buildings were constructed with masonry with various corners, as well as a brick window frame. The opening days and times of the museum are variable. Indeed, guided tours are by appointment from Monday to Friday. In this case, the schedule will depend on what you have agreed with the manager. On the other hand, if you do not want to make an appointment, free tours are available every Sunday afternoon from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and only from March to December. For Sundays in other months, the museum is closed.
