The Five Rooms to Visit

To guide visitors on their historical journey, the Museum is divided into several rooms, each dedicated to specific periods. Room 1 discusses the origins from 1930-1940. Room 2 addresses the emergence and affirmation of the Resistance from 1940-1942. Room 3 recounts the epic saga of the Resistance going on the offensive from November 11, 1942, to June 6, 1944. Room 4 showcases all objects related to liberation. Finally, Room 5 reflects on key future milestones. The main goal of all these exhibits is to impart knowledge to the widest possible audience about this challenging era in the history of France and the world at large.

The Emile Jean Museum in Villiers sur Marne

The Emile Jean Museum, established in 1973, is the brainchild of the Historical Society of Villiers and is situated in Villiers-sur-Marne. The museum showcases various facets of everyday Briarde life, covering scholastic, athletic, political, religious, and professional activities. A multitude of objects such as mannequins, furniture, books, and postcards are displayed throughout the museum.
